Frequently asked questions
A few of the questions we hear most often. If you don't see yours here, reach out — we're happy to talk it through.
Is this legal advice, business coaching, or both?
SHS Legal blends legal perspective with practical business coaching. Some engagements involve legal advice, contract drafting, or legal strategy; others focus more on business structure, operations, pricing, workflows, and decision support. The exact scope depends on your needs, your jurisdiction, and the terms of the engagement, and is always defined in advance.
Who do you work with?
Law firms, medical and health-related businesses, and other small service-based businesses — including consultants, agencies, creatives, coaches, and professional service providers. We specialize in owner-led organizations where legal and business decisions are closely connected.
What does a typical engagement look like?
Most engagements begin with a strategy call, followed by an assessment of your goals, documents, workflows, and current challenges. From there we prioritize what needs attention and agree on a scope — whether that is ongoing advisory through a monthly membership or a fixed-fee project.
Do you offer one-time projects or only ongoing memberships?
Both. Many clients work with us through a monthly advisory membership, and we also offer fixed-fee add-ons and standalone projects such as contract drafting, audits, and launch packages. These can be combined or scoped independently.
How much does it cost?
Monthly memberships start at $4,000 for Foundation, $7,500 for Growth, and $12,500 for Executive. Fixed-fee add-ons and projects are priced separately, and an initial strategy consultation ranges from $350 to $750.
Do you handle regulatory or licensing matters for health businesses?
SHS Legal focuses on business strategy, contracts, and general compliance awareness. Health-related businesses face varying regulatory considerations depending on services, jurisdiction, and model. We help you identify where specialized regulatory or licensing counsel may be needed and can work alongside such advisors.
What areas or jurisdictions do you serve?
Business strategy and coaching are available broadly. Any services that constitute legal advice are subject to jurisdictional and licensing limitations, which are confirmed for your specific situation before the engagement begins.
